Another End and Another Beginning

It's hard to believe that another year has flown by!

For me, birthdays are a good time to remember....
And as I  look back and recall the memories, this year in my life was full of both great and unpleasant moments. I remember very well dark nights but also bright mornings, gray clouds and blue skies, tears and also smiles....it was simply a good year to experience for the first time the reality of adulthood. And every bittersweet moment made me realize just how weak I am, and how much I need the strength of God to carry me through this life.

I am thankful, for the people that God has placed in my life....if there is one thing I have learned this year is that we clearly need the Lord in order to survive this life, and since He lives in many of the people around us, we need them! I know that without the long talks with Mom, fun horse rides with Dad, wise discussions with my grandparents, crazy laughs with friends, and even getting lost in the mountains with my bro and sis in law...this year wouldn't have been as special as it was. So thank you, to each of you that is reading this, for caring and being a part of my life!

Today I recorded a song that has always been a favorite of mine, and as my heart is overflowed with thanksgiving, it's also flooded with a new desire....a desire as strong as a child yearning for a new toy. I am once again struck with the reality of life, and my wish is that I am able to continue through this life in God's perfect will, and as hard as it may be sometimes, that I may be able to live my life for a greater purpose than my own:

Happy Easter!

He is not here, He has risen...

...just like He said.

Matthew 28:6

This Easter, as we remember how the Lord laid down His life for us,
let's also remember His words:

"A new command I give you:
Love one another.
As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
By this everyone will know that you are my disciples,
if you love one another."
John 13:34-35

Our Plans vs. God's Purpose (Back in Alberta!)

Someone once told me that life is like a puzzle, and instead of trying to figure out the whole puzzle at once, you should try to figure it out one piece at a time.

Life greatly consists of plans and dreams, and sometimes we even focus on our future plans more that the present. When we're not planning our life out, we're daydreaming about it, and at the end of the day we only feel discouraged because another day has gone by without our plans being fulfilled.

But what would happen if we realized that it is not our plans that form our lives, but God's purpose? We can daydream all we want, but at the end of the day we'll find that we don't have control over what happens each day, but God's purpose for that day was indeed fulfilled because God already knew what was going to happen today since the day you were born!
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, let's try to live and enjoy the Lord's purpose for the present, and let's allow God to live in our future!

Well, that is one puzzle piece that I've been figuring out lately, and I wanted to share it with you. :)

Thanks for reading, I hope you have an excellent weekend!

On Monday, at the age of one hundred, my great grandma (Mimi) went to meet with the Lord.
Although we are sad of losing her, we rejoice to know that she is now delighting in the presence of God.

"You will be missed."
